Tom Hogarth

Tom Hogarth, Poet, Singer, Musician
Calgary, Alberta

Tom comes from Settler where he was raised in the Western lifestyle. His early recollections include standing in the manger where his father was feeding his good Belgian horses and riding “pail bunters” in the corral. Some of his family are still in rodeo and chuckwagon racing, and Tom still rides every chance he gets.

Tom has been singing since the early years and playing guitar longer than he likes to remember! He is a Lifetime Member of ACPA, and singing at some of the first Pincher Creek gatherings are a vital part of his performance experience. He has also played rodeos, gatherings and other venues throughout the province. One highlight was being part of the production, “Sagebrush in my Heart”.

Tom writes and performs poetry but his favourites are ballads that paint vivd pictures. This has permitted him to adapt a number of poems to song lyrics and write music for them. He hopes everyone enjoys his performance as much as he enjoys doing them.
