Jen Zollner is a singer-song-writer from Medicine Hat, Alberta. Retirement from the farm/ranch life has given time for music and more music. Now her full time ‘job’ is leading a dance band and mentoring a ukelele sing-along group to entertain at senior homes and condos.
Though her first instrument is piano, it’s the admiration of the wholesome entertainment at cowboy gatherings that prompted her to play the guitar and write poetry.
Hers is rhyme put to music that recounts everyday family and country experiences, sometimes reflective but often ending with a humorous or unique twist so typical of western entertainment. Her tradmark is short unexpected narration in the middle of melodies.
It was a joy to record the CD “Peering at the Past” as a gift to her family.
Teaming up with Shelley Goldbeck to accompany and add harmony has been the most recent hightlight.
